On Sunday May 28, 2024 on a very foggy day in Evanston, Illinois, I attended a Northwestern Baseball game at Rocky and Berenice Miller Park. Purdue prevailed in the game and beat Northwestern with a final score of 11 to 3. Below are some pictures from the game.

Penn State vs Northwestern Football at Ryan Field 2023

On Saturday September 30, 2023, I attended a college football game in Evanston, Illinois at Ryan Field on a bright sunny and seasonably warm day. The Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions took on the Northwestern Wildcats. Northwestern got off to a quick start scoring a field goal on the opening drive. Penn state responded with its own field goal. Northwestern then went up 10 to 3 in the second quarter but Penn State evened up the score going into halftime. Northwestern looked good in the first half but unfortunately things did not go there way in the third quarter as Northwestern failed to convert on a crucial 4th and 1 and Northwestern attempted a fake punt that failed to convert. In the fourth quarter, Northwestern quarter back Ben Bryant was knocked out of the game and Northwestern quarterback Brendan Sullivan came on in relief. Penn State won the game with a score of 41 to 13. Northwestern quarterback Ben Bryant finished 14 of 25 with 125 yards. Northwestern wide receiver A.J. Henning had a good day on kick returns going for 78 yards on 3 attempts. For Penn State quarterback Drew Allar finished with 189 yards in the air and one passing touchdown.

UTEP vs Northwestern Football at Ryan Field 2023

On Saturday September 9, 2023, I attended a college football game in Evanston, Illinois at Ryan Field. The University of Texas at El Paso Miners took on the Northwestern Wildcats on a gorgeous September day. UTEP got off to a quick start scoring a touchdown on its opening drive with Zach Fryar receving a 4 yard pass from Gavin Hardison. Northwestern scored its own touchdown later in the first quarter with a 6 yard run by Jack Lausch. The teams remained tied going into halftime. Northwestern came into the second half ready to play and went on to score 5 unanswered touchdowns leading to a 38 to 7 Northwestern victory. Northwestern quarterback Ben Bryant finished with 116 yards in 17 attempts along with a passing touchdown. Northwestern quarterback Ryan Hillinski also saw action and completed 1 pass for 85 yards and a touchdown.

Northwestern wins its first college football game since it beat Nebraska in Ireland last season. Below are some pictures from the inside Ryan Field.

Purdue vs Northwestern Basketball at Welsh Ryan Arena 2023

On Sunday February 12, 2023, I attended a college basketball game in Evanston, Illinois at Welsh Ryan Arena. The #1 ranked Purdue University Boilermakers basketball team came to take on the Northwestern Wildcats. The final score was 64 for the Wildcats and 58 for the Boilermakers. This was perhaps Northwestern’s biggest regular season win in program history and first win over a #1 ranked team. Northwestern guard Boo Buie lead all scores with 26 points and 3 assists. Purdue center Zach Edey had 24 points and 8 rebounds. Northwestern lost control of the lead in the first few minutes and did not take the lead again until late with under 2 minutes remaining thanks in part to Northwestern guard Chase Audige who got going late and scored 15 points for the game.

Illinois vs Northwestern Football at Ryan Field 2022

On Saturday November 26, 2022, I attended a college football game in Evanston, Illinois at Ryan Field. The University of Illinois Fighting Illini came to town to take on the Northwestern Wildcats on mild fall day. The University of Illinois Fighting Illini team beat the Northwestern Wildcats by a score of 41 to 3. Northwestern avoided the shutout with a field goal by Adam Stage in the fourth quarter wtih the drive led by Northwestern quarterback Jack Lausch who came on after Cole Freeman threw four interceptions. Northwestern running back Evan Hull ran for 53 yards on the ground with 20 carries. Illinois running back tandem Reggie Love III and Chase Brown both scored a touchdown and combined for over 140 yards. The Northwestern 2022 college football team finished the season with a record of 1-11 with the only win coming against Nebraska in Ireland.
